According to Dr. Zalmanov's research, capillary circulation is the main and perhaps the only point of metabolism. Diseases of the capillaries, or capillaropathy, underlie every pathological process.
For various diseases therapy, Dr. Zalmanov developed yellow and white emulsions containing natural turpentine derived from coniferous trees.
The white emulsion and the yellow solution each have their own specific indications. The former provides a kind of capillary “gymnastics,” stimulating the skin capillaries and all organs, and therefore improving the overall condition of the body. It increases arterial blood pressure.
The yellow solution, by enhancing internal metabolic activity and dilating the capillaries, helps dissolve pathological deposits in joint cavities, periarticular tissues, the walls of blood vessels, tendons, and the lens of the eye (cataract). This bath lowers arterial blood pressure.
Both forms possess a pronounced analgesic effect.
The two types of turpentine baths, whose actions complement each other, make it possible to tailor the therapy to each individual case and to modify it at any time.
In the mid-20th century, Zalmanov baths were widely used throughout Europe. They were officially recognized by the French Ministry of Health and demonstrated high efficacy in Parisian hospitals.
In France, they were approved by the Ministry of Health under the following registration numbers: G.H.D. 16,889 dated June 24, 1952, and C.V. 23,008 dated July 28, 1952.
